McWreath Dog Training Camp

What is our Dog Training Camp like?

Our Dog Training Camp is a minimum 14 day board and train to provide the consistency needed to solidify the foundation of your dog’s training journey.

We tailor our Training Camp to meet your dog's specific needs.  We cover a wide range of training goals such as puppy manners, crate and potty training, obedience, advanced recall skills, and behavioral modification training where we can address issues like excessive vocalization (barking/whining), aggression, reactivity, and impulse control. A cornerstone of our training program is to teach your dog how to relax, which cultivates an ideal learning mindset for your pooch.  We even offer e-collar training as part of the comprehensive program.

♦ PRIVATE TRAINING SESSIONS INCLUDED.  During your dog's stay you'll be required to attend a minimum of 2 private training sessions. Attending these private training sessions allows you to understand the commands and cues your dog has learned, as well as how to reinforce and maintain their training once they return home.  IT'S CRUCIAL TO CONSISTENTLY REINFORCE THE TRAINING AT HOME; OTHERWISE, YOUR DOG MAY REVERT TO OLD HABITS.

How do I sign my dog up for Dog Training Camp?

If you're a new client the first step is an in-home Training Evaluation.  During your evaluation Chelsea McWreath will meet with you to discuss your training goals and provide insight into realistic expectations for our board and train program.

What do our Clients Say?

  • Stucchi has come a long way already with Chelsea's lead. We so appreciate her guidance, patience, & encouragement in teaching us. I would not trust Stucchi to stay with anyone but Chelsea & her husband either. You really need to know & understand the specific breeds to adjust if need be, in the care & such. She really has a lot going on. Thank you Chelsea!

  • Before i found out about Chelsea and Four Paws Forward i had not been able to go on vacation in over 5 years. The fear of leaving my overly anxious dog in someone else care scared the heck out of me. After our trial night i felt very confident leaving my dogs with her. She kept me up to date almost every night and sent me pictures while i was away. Will 1000% be returning in the future.

  • I always feel great about boarding my dogs with her. They have the best times. I would highly recommend her for boarding or training. I know my girls are in the best hands when I’m away. I think my girls like Chelsea more then me…🤣

  • We were recommended Four Paw Forward by our neighbor, who had their Dane trained by Chelsea. He's a very good boy. Our resuce Nina knew some basic commands, but she needed some extra attention with a few things and help with socialization. Chelsea and her amazing dogs have really helped her be more at ease and me notice what she needs. We are very happy with how far she has come. Nina has stayed with Four Paws Forward and we were 100% happy with her stay and plan on her staying with them when we travel in the future.

  • We always use Four Paws to groom our two Great Pyrenees. She has always done a great job with our boys and treats the dogs very well. We will never go anywhere else as long as she's around.

  • We just began working with Four Paws Forward a couple of months ago. Chelsea has done amazing work training our three dogs. We have a 4 year old frenchie, 3 year old English bulldog, and a 4 month old American bully xl. These can be challenging breeds to train and she has helped them leaps and bounds with their confidence, impulse control, and (for the baby) learning commands and manners. Our dogs (and our whole family!) love her! She’s so insightful in how she learns and understands the personality of each dog and builds training strategies that meet the goals to help them achieve balance and thrive. We look forward to continuing to work with her!! Thank you so much, Chelsea!

  • I have never felt so comfortable leaving my dog before! We recently boarded our dog for a week while on vacation and he had the best time! I absolutely love the in home environment and attention they provide their guests and truly treat them like a member of the family. Normally we have a rough transition once we come home as our dog can be quite anxious and worried we will leave him again, but not this time! He was completely unphased and carried on like we never left-AMAZING! Definitely recommend Four Paws Forward, Chelsea is wonderful. Thank you again!

  • Chelsea was fantastic with our two dogs that had previously only ever stayed with family. She stayed in touch and sent pictures of their stay. Made us feel comfortable while our fur babies weren’t in our care! We will definitely try to plan our dogs to stay in her care this next vacation!

Spa Service Add-ons

Nail Grinding - $15

Grinding a dog's nails can get them shorter than regular nail trimming. It is safer because it doesn't leave jagged edges, and won't cut the quick. Nail grinding is especially handy for dogs with large, thick nails that can be difficult to clip.

Ear Cleaning - $10

Cleaning your dog's ears helps keep them clean and prevent buildup of wax and debris which can lead to an infected ear.

Teeth Brushing - $15

Keeping your dog's teeth clean is important, as ignoring it can lead to plaque build-up and dental problems. Dental disease is very common in dogs and can be extremely uncomfortable.

Anal Gland Expression - $15

Manually expressing your dog’s anal glands can help relieve discomfort that dogs experience when they are full and can prevent any infections from developing.

Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and comfortable stay for your dog and others at our boarding kennel.

Where will my dog sleep or rest?

In private kennel or accommodation.

Where will my dog eat?

All dogs eat in their kennel, or private accommodations.

How much exercise will my dog get during their stay?

Because we board in our home, your pooch will spend a lot of time outside in our fenced in yard playing.  If the weather is bad, we have an indoor play area for them to still get to play and socialize a great deal during their stay.

Will my dog be allowed to play with other dogs?

As we know, all dogs don’t always get along with all other dogs.  We have structured playtime with oversight where your dog will be allowed to play in a group of dogs they get along with.

What if my dog cannot be with other dogs due to aggression or other behavioral issues?

If your dog is not able to be socially active with other dogs, that is ok!  They will still enjoy plenty of individual exercise and play with us in our home environment atmosphere.  We take pride in providing a safe and comfortable environment for every dog in our care.
