*Please note that if you're not a current client and wish to participate in recurring Group Classes your dog must be pre-approved for group work via a Training Evaluation.  This ensures not only the safety of all participants, but that you and your pooch will be more likely to have a positive and enriching learning experience in the group setting.

Once your pooch is approved for these group classes you'll be able to book them through your personal McWreath Client Portal.

More Dog Training Options:

Private Training

Private sessions in a familiar environment, such as your home, create a comfortable and optimal learning environment for your pooch.

One-on-one training is especially helpful for dogs requiring behavioral modification for issues like resource guarding, aggression, or fear, etc.

Every dog is unique, and has individual challenges or behavioral tendencies. Private sessions enable us to identify and address these specific challenges quickly, providing targeted solutions for you and your dog.

Group Training FAQ's

Can my dog play with other dogs during group classes?

No.  We strongly discourage leashed dogs from engaging in face-to-face greetings or play with each other. This precaution is rooted in our belief that such interactions can be problematic, especially when a dog may exhibit fear or protective behaviors. Dogs can react for various reasons, including fear, aggression, or overexcitement. Considering the safety of all parties involved, it’s crucial to recognize that in such situations, a dog’s natural instinct might trigger a fight or flight response. An unleashed dog has the option to leave the area, but a leashed dog may feel confined and, consequently, display unnaturally aggressive behavior. This precaution is particularly emphasized in group classes, where dogs are learning to socialize appropriately in public while leashed. Our primary concern is creating a safe and positive environment for both dogs and their owners to foster effective learning and socialization.

What are the benefits of Group Classes?

Engaging with other dogs in a controlled environment helps your pooch develop social skills and good behavior in public. It also prepares them for various real-life situations, teaching them to adapt to new environments, and advances their training to the next level.

What do we do in Group Classes?

Each group class offers a variety of exercises that work on confidence building, various levels of obedience, handler & dog bonding, proper socialization, impulse control, and even canine fitness.

Can I bring more than one dog?

We only allow 1 dog per handler in our group classes.

How many dogs are in your group classes?

Indoor retail location classes are limited to 6 dogs.

Outdoor classes are limited to 10 dogs.
