How do I book my first boarding reservation?

Owned and managed by professional dog trainer, Chelsea McWreath, we understand how important it is for your pooch to fit in at our home.  Therefore, if you're not a current client, a 2-night boarding evaluation is required to assess whether your dog(s) will fit in comfortably while staying with us.

We appreciate your understanding as we do all we can to ensure the best experience for all our canine guests. We take pride in providing a safe and cozy environment for all the pooches who stay with us.

Vaccine & Flea Prevention Requirements

All vaccines must be given no less than 2 weeks prior to boarding.

Required Vaccines:

DHPP (Distemper; Hepatitis; Parvovirus; Parainfluenza)

Flea & Tick Prevention must be up to date and your pooch needs to be free of fleas and ticks when you arrive for your boarding reservation.  Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and comfortable stay for your dog and others at our boarding kennel.

Spa Service Add-ons:

Nail Grinding - $15

Grinding a dog's nails can get them shorter than regular nail trimming. It is safer because it doesn't leave jagged edges, and won't cut the quick. Nail grinding is especially handy for dogs with large, thick nails that can be difficult to clip.

Teeth Brushing - $15

Keeping your dog's teeth clean is important, as ignoring it can lead to plaque build-up and dental problems. Dental disease is very common in dogs and can be extremely uncomfortable.

Ear Cleaning - $10

Cleaning your dog's ears helps keep them clean and prevent buildup of wax and debris which can lead to an infected ear.

Anal Gland Expression - $15

Manually expressing your dog’s anal glands can help relieve discomfort that dogs experience when they are full and can prevent any infections from developing.

  • Before i found out about Chelsea and Four Paws Forward i had not been able to go on vacation in over 5 years. The fear of leaving my overly anxious dog in someone else care scared the heck out of me. After our trial night i felt very confident leaving my dogs with her. She kept me up to date almost every night and sent me pictures while i was away. Will 1000% be returning in the future.

  • I can’t even begin to say how wonderful Chelsea is with dogs!! We recently did a board training with our 1.5 year old German Shepherd and let me tell you, she came home a different dog! We were at our wits end with her extremely high energy and not listening to basic commands. Sending her to Chelsea was the best decision we could have made. My only regret is not doing it sooner!! She treated our dog like she was one of her own and we are thrilled with the outcome! Highly highly recommend Four Paws Dog Services!!

  • We always use Four Paws to groom our two Great Pyrenees. She has always done a great job with our boys and treats the dogs very well. We will never go anywhere else as long as she's around.

  • Chelsea was fantastic with our two dogs that had previously only ever stayed with family. She stayed in touch and sent pictures of their stay. Made us feel comfortable while our fur babies weren’t in our care! We will definitely try to plan our dogs to stay in her care this next vacation!

  • We just began working with Four Paws Forward a couple of months ago. Chelsea has done amazing work training our three dogs. We have a 4 year old frenchie, 3 year old English bulldog, and a 4 month old American bully xl. These can be challenging breeds to train and she has helped them leaps and bounds with their confidence, impulse control, and (for the baby) learning commands and manners. Our dogs (and our whole family!) love her! She’s so insightful in how she learns and understands the personality of each dog and builds training strategies that meet the goals to help them achieve balance and thrive. We look forward to continuing to work with her!! Thank you so much, Chelsea!

  • Chelsea is AMAZING! She turned our big rambunctious boy into the perfect gentleman! I’m so grateful for her and how she helped make our Great Dane into a wonderful companion. He loves her to pieces...and so do we! Vacation, grooming and training, one stop shop! I will never use anyone else! And I’ll continue to recommend her to everyone I know who needs help with their dogs! 🐶🐾💙 Thank you Chelsea for everything you do!

  • We were recommended Four Paw Forward by our neighbor, who had their Dane trained by Chelsea. He's a very good boy. Our resuce Nina knew some basic commands, but she needed some extra attention with a few things and help with socialization. Chelsea and her amazing dogs have really helped her be more at ease and me notice what she needs. We are very happy with how far she has come. Nina has stayed with Four Paws Forward and we were 100% happy with her stay and plan on her staying with them when we travel in the future.

Dog Boarding FAQ's

What should I expect during my dog(s) stay?

What do I need to bring with my dog for their stay?

  • Collar (w/ I.D. Tags) & leash
  • Food (portioned out per feeding)
  • Water & food bowls
  • Favorite treats
  • Medications needed (optional)
  • Chews or bones (optional)
  • Favorite bed or blanket (optional)
  • Favorite toy(s) (optional)
  • Your pooch may want something that smells like you to cuddle with, such as a worn sweatshirt or t-shirt* (optional)      *We are not responsible if your dog destroys blankets, shirts, toys, etc. during their stay.

Where will my dog sleep or rest?

In private kennel or accommodation.

Where will my dog eat?

All dogs eat in their kennel, or private accommodations.

How much exercise will my dog get during their stay?

Because we board in our home, your pooch will spend a lot of time outside in our fenced in yard playing.  If the weather is bad, we have an indoor play area for them to still get to play and socialize a great deal during their stay.

Will my dog be allowed to play with other dogs?

As we know, all dogs don’t always get along with all other dogs.  We have structured playtime with oversight where your dog will be allowed to play in a group of dogs they get along with.

What if my dog cannot be with other dogs due to aggression or other behavioral issues?

If your dog is not able to be socially active with other dogs, that is ok!  They will still enjoy plenty of individual exercise and play with us in our home environment atmosphere.  We take pride in providing a safe and comfortable environment for every dog in our care.

Do you give daily medications if needed?

Yes.  Medications must come in the original medication containers.

Please note we have specific health requirements for dogs boarding with us. If a dog is on any antibiotics for less than 3 days, they are not eligible for boarding. Additionally, if a dog is experiencing a contagious ailment, they cannot be accommodated during the contagious period. These measures are in place to ensure the well-being of all our guests and maintain a healthy environment.

What do I need to prepare for our boarding reservation?

Do I need to fill out a Dog Boarding Information Form?

Prior to your dog’s stay with us you’ll need to fill out a “Dog Boarding Information Form” for each dog boarding with us.  This not only lets us know what your dogs daily and special needs are, but also if they require any special accommodations such as individual play and exercise time if they are aggressive towards or fearful of other dogs.  Please be as honest and thorough as possible when filling out our Dog Boarding Information Forms.  We’ll never judge your dog(s), but need as much information as possible prior to their stay to ensure the safest and most comfortable environment for them while they are here.

Why do new client’s need a 2-night boarding evaluation?

Not all dogs are the same and we want to make sure we know enough about your pooch to ensure a safe and comfortable stay with us.  We do 2-night evaluations because we’ve found that the first night in a new place is the most difficult for most dogs and want to give your dog the chance to settle in and let us really get to know them before a longer stay with us.  We’ll never judge your dog(s)

What Vaccines are required?

  • Bordatella
  • Rabies
  • DHPP (Distemper; Hepatitis; Parvovirus; Parainfluenza)
  • Leptospirosis

NOTE: All vaccines must be given no less than 2 weeks prior to boarding.

Do I need Proof of Flea & Tick Prevention?

Yes. Please upload a photo of your current flea & tick prevention medication in your dog’s profile on your Client Portal prior to arriving. Flea & tick prevention must be up to date and your pooch needs to be free of fleas and ticks when you arrive for your boarding reservation. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and comfortable stay for your dog and others at our boarding kennel.

Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy Questions:

Do I need to pay a down payment when I book my reservation?

Your payment secures your place, and due to this limitation, we cannot offer refunds for payments received; however, you may be eligible for service credits (see Cancellation Policy below).
